# Physics – Types of Energy – Kinetic

This is the first video So if you’re watching this you are the first one to see the first video of that and learning so let’s jump right in In this video, we will be covering unit 1 lesson 1 which is types of energy as our topic for today Now by looking at the first slide because the a question has appeared which many of us might not know What is energy well if you think in general about energy we use it basically every day But the definition might surprise you energy is the capacity of work and work is done when a force Causing an object to move in the direction of the force So if we take an example, you push a ball to your right and well The ball has done work believe it or not When we look at our example Scientifically the force was us pushing and of object was the ball the direction of our force was right? So when we push the ball, right? It worked for us. Apparently we did some work too, but we were to force for the ball Now energy is not the only book every word We have to know but energy also has children and those children are the different types of energy Many google searches – boy even more types before this course the only no 9 different types of energy kinetic potential mechanical formal chemical electrical sound light nuclear Some of these types may sound more familiar than others and by prediction Before knowing each type most of us should know at least light energy We use basically light every day so you can probably predict what light energy years We will discuss these types of energy in the next few topics before this lecture. Let’s take two kinetic Kinetic energy is basically energy of anything that is in motion Everything that you see in motion has kinetic energy Some very common examples may seem to be you driving on the road And airplane flying or an object in flying the falling motion like a ball But a ball falling can sometimes be confused with different types of energy When the ball is sitting on top of something and ready to fall imagine this in your head That is not connect a kinetic energy but when it does fall and that it is in motion between the where it came from and the floor or whatever surface is going to land on during that time it has kinetic energy So in the next lecture, we will go over potential energy to see on to them
